THE PURPOSE OF THIS SITE, AND MY PROMISE TO YOU
Hello, my name is Nyghtfall, and I'm your host here at Cinemasphyxia.com.
Have you ever been watching a movie, or a television show, and heard that cliche, ominous-sounding
music, telling you a murder's about to occur? You're sitting there, watching what may be
the best asphyx scene you've seen in a long time, and just when the the action peaks, WHAM! The
camera cuts away to some completely irrelevant scene! The studios think they're creating suspense,
when all we want is a good, long scene with no cuts.
That's where this site comes in.
Cinemasphyxia spotlights asphyx scenes in mainstream film and
television, complete with scene descriptions and commentary written by me, and a video captured
preview image of each scene. You won't find any camera cuts here, because I remove every irrelevant
scene from every clip I edit. What's more, every clip includes stereo audio, and can be played
back full screen!
MPEG-1 VIDEO
Clips are recorded, edited, and produced using MPEG-1
video compression*. This is to insure compatibility across multiple platforms without the need for special
software drivers or video codecs. Due to the high quality of MPEG-1 video, the file sizes of the clips I
produce tend to be rather large, especially because I include some of the setup of each scene leading up
to the action.
* As of March, 2008, this site is transitioning from MPEG to WMV compressed video. WMV offers
better video quality and smaller file sizes over MPEG.
UPDATES
New clips are posted every weekend, at a rate of 1-4 clips per week, depending on what I have available.
THIS SITE IS ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE
Cinemasphyxia.com is a privately owned domain, created by me. This site is strictly a labor of love, a medium
through which to share my love for fantasy asphyxia with you, and is hosted by Dreamhost.com.
I pay all maintenance costs out of my own pocket. As such, access to the site and all of its content is
absolutely free of charge -- no subscriptions, no advertising.
THIS IS NOT A PORN SITE
Please note that this is not an adult site in the sense that it contains pornographic or sexually
explicit material. If that is what you're looking for, then I'm sorry, you will not
find such material here. It is simply a matter that some of the themes addressed by Cinemasphyxia
may be objectionable to parents or to other individuals, and that by requiring visitors to login,
it reduces the possibility of someone inadvertantly accessing the material contained herein.
PROMOTIONAL AGREEMENTS
Because it is my intention for this site to provide objective reviews, it is my policy not to enter into
promotional arrangements with other sites, independent producers, or other content providers. This is to
insure that, when I give my opinion on any clip or film, that it is not unduely influenced by considerations
other than the quality of the clip itself.
PASSWORD REQUIRED FOR ACCESS
Due to the mature nature of the material provided on this site, and in an effort to help parents
better control their children's Internet access, Cinemasphyxia requires all visitors to
complete and submit an electronic age statement. In choosing to do so, you are are certifying that
you are, in fact, over 18, and are aware of the type of content offered on this site. You are also
acknowledging that you do wish to view it.
KEEP THE PASSWORD PRIVATE
Membership to Cinemasphyxia.com cannot be canceled or revoked, because there is no membership to
cancel or have revoked. The password, however, can and will be changed in the event
that I learn that it has been released to the public domain. As a guest to this site, you
are expected to keep the password private.
Please note, both the Username and Password are universal for everyone who registers for access
to this site. It's easier than letting everyone create their own. Neveretheless, do not post
it anywhere but the login prompt.
Registration for accessing this site is also free. You are not under any obligation
to pay for access to any section of the site, or its content. User authentication is simply a
preventive measure I have implemented to insure minors are not accessing the site.
